Many lives have been saved by the team which is composed of over 30 volunteers who often risk life and limb to assist others in need. TCSAR (T-SAR) maintains a steady mission-call volume throughout the year averaging 50 calls per year. Tuolumne County is a central location for numerous tourist attractions including all seasonal mountain and water recreational sports. It is one of the oldest teams in continuous service in the state of California. Since 1975, Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team has been responding to search and rescue calls of all kinds, in all seasons, and at all hours.
